Isle of Palms Winter Redfishing

Despite the major cold front that has descended upon the East Coast of the United States, the fishing has been very productive! I am seeing Large Schools of Redfish throughout the Sounds, Bays, and Waterways! These fish have been eating a variety of fly’s, artificial baits, and live baits. My go to live bait this time of year is a fresh quartered Blue Crab. Tony and his son Ted fished with me this past week and had a blast. This time of year all it takes, is getting on the right school of Happy Hungry Fish, and that we did! We also boated over 40 good sized Sheepshead. Those fish were loving a live fiddler crab being dangled in front of their face. Overall, the Winter is my favorite time to fish. Just imagine seeing the fish from a distance and stalking the school. This time of year it allows you spot the fish, stalk the fish, cast to the fish, hook the fish, fight the fish, and enjoy every second of it! Come and get on some Isle of Palms Winter Redfishing Charter today!

Isle of Palms Fishing Charters Report

School is in for the Redfish and they’ve been eating! Yesterday was a Stellar Day of fishing. I was filming Live with Redzone Outdoors to showcase a schooled up Redfish Bite! I was accompanied by good friend and fellow Captain, Patrick Brogan. We were able to stalk several groups of Redfish and then found one that was ecstatic! We had several Double and Triple Hookups! It was a picturesque day of Wintertime Redfishing! Beyond the great Redfish Bite we also boated over 30 Sheepshead, and proceeded to run out of bait! While the weather may be a bit tricky this time of year, the right day can certainly be rewarding! Give me a call and book your Isle of Palms Fishing Charter Today!

Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge

We were fishing in one of my favorite parts of the World yesterday, the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge!  Established in 1932 it is one of the oldest Refuges maintained by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department. The Refuge itself encompasses 22 miles of the Atlantic Coastline and contains 66,306 acres of pristine and protected marshland. This is one of the most beautiful parts of the South Carolina Lowcountry, and perhaps my favorite part about the Refuge is the close proximity to the Isle of Palms Marina!  To learn more about the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge click here.

Tournament Season

It’s that time of year again, time to pony up and face my competitors. My partner and I have been gearing up to compete in several Professional Redfish Circuits. These circuits are the Lowcountry Redfish Cup, Southern Redfish Cup, and IFA Redfish Tour. We’re looking for a pair of the largest “In Slot” Redfish we can find! Which certainly is not the easiest thing to accomplish! Keep up with us on Facebook to see how we’re doing. Click here to Link to Charleston Fishing Adventures Facebook.

It certainly has been a memorable fall this year. While we have had some crazy weather, and we have also had some great fishing trips! Isle of Palms Fishing Charters will continue to get even better with the coming winter. With that being said, this time of year is my favorite time of the year to live in the South Carolina Lowcountry. The cooling temperatures makes it pleasant to be outside and on the water. The local scenery is beautiful, especially with all of the changing colors. The best part about that is the fish seem to like it too! Call about your Isle of Palms Fishing Charter today.

December Fishing Report

The Redfish have begun to school up in shallower water in good numbers. We’ve been catching them on Live, Dead, and Artificial baits. This makes a great day of Fishing when they’re hungry!  The Trout are eating well and we are catching some grown ones. Many Seatrout have been falling victim to not only live bait, but also DOA Shrimp and Z-Man Elaztech Baits. Black Drum and Sheepshead are also holding structure and tearing up the shrimp and crab. All fish tend to be extremely happy this time of year! With fall dwindling down and winter approaching, we should have some more Stellar Fishing Days!
